What Does Eating Healthy Really Mean? Healthy Diet FoodMost people don't know what a healthy diet food plan even means. They've been either told lies, or they want to believe what they want to believe so they can eat anything they like, or they have been conned into thinking that packaged food products in some way might be healthy for them. When people say "low fat diet plans", that doesn't at all mean "no fat diet plans". The body needs fat, and if you don't get enough fat your body starts burning muscles. Also, if you don't get enough fat, your body doesn't metabolize properly. People tend to overdo when they go on diet plans, figuring, "Hey, not eating some fat is good for me, so let me eat NO fat." What you should do is eat the right KINDS of fat. It's almost not possible to eat too much of the right kind of fats. Nobody is going to go out and drink a bottle of Olive Oil. It just doesn't taste like French fries. However, healthy diet food oil such as Extra Virgin Expeller-pressed Olive Oil is very healthy for you. It's loaded with what are called GLAs (Gamma Linoleic Acids) which help lower bad cholesterol and balance the fats in your system. And, when you hear of healthy diet foods, that means vegetables, too. Organic vegetables are what you should purchase, because store vegetables are covered with pesticides. Few companies wash their vegetables well enough, so residues are left on the skin that should be washed off and scrubbed with a brush before eating. A diabetic exchange diet means that this group of foods equals this other group of foods. If a diet says to have one of these, the following foods are interchangeable: 1 slice bread (4-inch square) Now, because one needs carbohydrates in their body in order to keep the pH in a proper range, and to balance their metabolism, it's best not to cut all carbs from your diet. A whole grains diet will add the healthy carbohydrates (oftentimes called 'complex carbohydrates) to your diet. Healthy diet food means that you should also eat lots of fruits; but when you're taking a high protein diet, you should eat the fruits early in the day so they don't take too long to digest, fermenting in your intestinal tract. That's why people complain that eating fruit makes them fart. Nothing beats a good fruits and vegetables diet. Possibly the healthiest diet is one which contains healthy diet food such as broccoli; the greens such as swiss chard, collards, and spinach; carrots, eggplant, beans and other legumes, green beans, tomatoes, corn and any other fruits or vegetables that you might like. If you also combine plain yogurt mixed with sliced up bananas, pears, raisins, prunes, apples, blueberries, raspberries and peaches then you'll never come closer to heaven and still be eating healthy diet food. |
